Burglary Suspects Held To Grand Jury

Joseph L. Mayhugh 18 of 29 Maple Ave Amelia was bound over to the Clermont County grand jury on a breaking and entering charge. Bonnie Routt 22 of Laurel and David Meyer 18 of Sutton Ave were also bound to the grand jury by Judge Chris Erhardt. Sheriff Donald Watson said investigation led to arrests and recovery of stolen items including guns TVs radios cameras and small appliances. four burglaries yielded full recovery.

Planners Oppose Mulberry Tract Rezoning for TV Tower

Clermont County planners oppose rezoning a 1.8 acre Mulberry tract to industrial use for a cable TV tower and transmitter. They favor agricultural classification and oppose small-lot industrial rezoning in a residential area.

Armed Robber Takes $500 From Local Delicatessen

A masked man entered the E Z Park Carry Out at 1405 W Ohio Pike Amelia last Tuesday night around 10 25 pm and forced clerk Margie Martin to fill a bag with about 500 dollars. The store owner and clerk escaped unharmed after the robber fled. Investigators including Sheriff Donald Watson and Chief Deputy John Van Camp continued inquiries.

Sunrise Nursing Home on SR 132 Hamlet has new owners a Cincinnati corporation. Leo C Konstam and Jacob Fischer become president and vice president respectively with Don Luse as administrator and Delores Strunk RN as director of nursing. The facility plans Medicare licensure upgrade to 49 beds and will accept private and Medicare patients with 24 hour care and therapist staff.

The village plans a $3 million bond for a new middle school and additions to existing buildings with a tax cost of $2.38 per $1000 of property value. The Ohio Pesticide Use and Applicator Law requires county residents to obtain a permit at the County Extension Office before purchasing restricted pesticides. County extension agent W W Hamilton notes the process teaches proper use, precautions, and limitations. Aircraft Makes Forced Landing Near Tealtown Road

James Abner of Bethel piloted an aircraft bound from Clermont County Airport to Lunken Airport that was forced to land in a Tealtown Road field Tuesday morning. Passenger Bill Holland was uninjured. The nose gear sustained superficial damage. engine failure from fuel line icing was cited. Muddy ground delayed takeoff after repairs until conditions hardened. The Unicell Corp. owns the plane, based at Clermont County Airport.

Giant Slide Delays Circle Freeway Completion

A six month delay in finishing the Circle Freeway 1 275 in Clermont County stems from a slide endangering a 1 250 000 yard dirt and rock fill near Hall s Run. Crews work 24 hours a day to contain the fill and keep the stream clear. The slide may dam the hill and flood the valley. the wingwall was damaged by heavy fans. The 900 foot fill near Round Bottom Road was built to spec and correcting it will not cost the contractor, says John R Jurgensen Co.

Heroin Sales Bring 20-40 Year Sentences

Judge Louis J. Schwartz sent 19 year old Clayton Eads of 3330 Jenny Lind Road to a state reformatory after a trial without a jury for heroin offenses in Clermont County. Cousin Dennis Eads, 23, of 3354 Jenny Lind Road, received an Ohio Penitentiary term after a jury verdict. Michael Eads, 17, brother of Clayton, faced charges tied to the undercover sale. Sheriff Watson noted auto seizure provisions for narcotics offenses.
