English Pheasants Arrive for Ohio Propagation Program
The Ohio Bureau of Game Propagation under Tom Nash received 1200 English pheasants from Gaybird Pheasant Farms Oxford England. The shipment includes 200 cocks and 1000 hens after an eight day Atlantic voyage. Ohio maintains three preserves Wilminton Portsmouth and the Roosevelt preserve funded by hunters licenses. Each county receives birds from these preserves.

Fred Miller aged 70 died suddenly at home in Batavia Friday morning from kidney stones. Survived by three sons Lee Carl Elmer and daughter Mia Tom Lee. funeral Sunday at U B Church, Union Cemetery burial. Mrs Lee Miller found him dead in the bathroom after the family cared for him overnight. The Buckle sale near the school house last Saturday drew few buyers and low prices. Mr B, a tinsmith and plumber, plans to move to his Brasier area farm.

Hog Theft Near Marathon Stuns Farm Community
Thieves stole two fat hogs from Chas Bingaman’s farm near Marathon on Tuesday night. The hogs were killed and loaded into a truck without noise, with no clues or suspects known the next day. A prior Brown County beef theft left a carcass quarter with a note saying the poor must eat as well as the rich.
