New Clermont program targets alcohol and drug offenders
County officials plan a weekend alcohol and drug program by mid May as an alternative for first time and untreated repeat offenders. John Kelly of the Clermont County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse outlined the plan at a judges meeting. The program would screen for chronic problems and route severe cases to rehabilitation while helping others avoid future abuse. Up to 23 participants would use Grailville facilities, with sessions Friday 4 PM to Sunday 10 30 PM, and a $175 fee paid prior to attendance. Cards for program completion may suspend sentences or reduce court dockets.
