Inspector To Crack Down On Junk Cars

GLEN ESTE Chairman Thomas Clepper urges strict enforcement of zoning laws to curb junk cars. Zoning Inspector Fred Romohr warns a $100 penalty applies for violations including auto repairs wrecking dismantling or sale of obsolete vehicles or parts in agricultural, special or residential districts. Pools also carry a $100 penalty for noncompliance with fencing and proximity rules.

Pastor Summoned In Libel Suit In Ohio Case

The Rev. D. G. Lach of Mt. Moriah Community Methodist Church in Williamsville was to give a deposition in Clermont County Common Pleas Court after being subpoenaed in a $100,000 libel suit brought by Martha E. Nord of New Richmond. Nord accuses Vera McMillan and Arnold H. Nichols of publishing a political ad in the Ohio Piker last fall signed by a Pierce Township committee listing McMillan as chairwoman. Nord, the incumbent Pierce Township trustee, was re elected.

Allis-Chalmers Bid For Water System Valve

Allis-Chalmers Co Cincinnati bid 1940 dollars for an automatic check valve for the MGS Water System. The County Commissioners referred the bid to the manager of the water and sewer systems for study and recommendation.

The Batavia Business Men’s Association stages a county pep rally with bonfire Thursday at the rear school grounds. Coach Robert Clausson is named Citizen of the Year by a unanimous association vote delayed until now. Friday includes a school breakfast for the coach and team, a Greyhound trip to Troy, and two arena games at Hobart Arena with radio coverage by WPFB.

Village of Batavia Resolves Congrats to Batavia High Basketball

The Batavia Village Council resolves to convey heartfest congratulations to Batavia High School for finishing undefeated for the third straight season and winning the Southwestern District of Ohio Class A Tournament in 1966. It directs the Clerk to record the resolution permanently and furnishes a copy to the team ahead of the state tournament game.

Union Two Eyes New Concept of Planning

Union Township officials discuss a new interchange zoning district for industry proposed by Donald Buckley of the Clermont County Planning Commission. If adopted, the plan would make Union Township the county to preplan around the Circle Freeway with land set aside at Route 125 near Withamsville and Route 32, using a point system to grade industrial sites for future use.

The West Clermont Principals Association unanimously endorsed two issues on the March 22 special election ballot. A spokesman said the passage will ensure adequate kindergarten space and full days for all students for several years.

Three Held After Break-In At Holly Lanes

Three men arrested after a Sunday break in at Holly Lanes on Route 125 near Amelia. Clyde Parker 23 Bethel and his brother Donald 32 Bethel are charged with breaking and entering. Frank Liming 37 Bethel faces charges of aiding and abetting and license violation. Loot found near the door is owned by Carl Backer.

A hearing on the proposed annexation of property to New Richmond was rescheduled to 10 a.m. May 18 by the County Commissioners due to appeals awaiting Ohio Supreme Court action.

Niel Buckley was sworn in as director of New Richmond National Bank Monday a role his father and grandfather held. Charles Schneider becomes president while remaining cashier.
