County Red Cross Drive Prolonged in Clermont County

George Ambermiller chairman of the Clermont County Chapter says the annual Red Cross drive is bogging down due to lack of local support and competition from other fund drives. The drive will continue throughout townships this month and county residents are urged to give when Red Cross workers call.

Grand Jury Hears 22 Cases 16 True Bills Are Returned

A Clermont County grand jury heard 22 cases Tuesday with 16 true bills returned. Indictments include manslaughter for Merrill McKinney in a fatal State Route 125 crash that killed Charles Carnes and Edward Bowen of Bethel, plus charges of non support larceny assault and battery grand larceny and indecent exposure for various defendants. Six cases were ignored.

The Ward family of nine newcomers to Clermont County face ongoing poverty with scarce work and limited relief. Courier Contest Grows With New Entrants and Groups

The 1950 Courier subscription contest opened strongly last weekend with late entries from Owensville senior class Boy Scouts and Cozaddale Sun Day School under Mr and Mrs Donald Tigar and Pt Isabel school students. Subscriptions support local groups and profits fund their activities. Final standings remain undisclosed until the April 10 prize distribution.
