Sheriff Clyde Dericks and deputies investigate three recent burglaries and an attempted looting in Cler mont County as part of a months long wave of unsolved crimes. Francis & Son garage on State Route 125 west of Amelia saw a small cash drawer theft after midnight March 7, Willi amsville Supply Co. nearby looted for tools and merchandise, Oasis Cafe on Route 125 west of Amelia was entered with cash and watch missing, coin boxes damaged, and Mounds Inn near Neville on Route 52 faced a failed break in.

A defective flue sparked a blaze at Harry L Spaulding route 50 Monterey Marathon area causing 2000 dollars in losses. Batavia high school seniors Donald Patton and Elsa Myers attended the fourth annual World Affairs Institute in Cincinnati March 3-4 with about 700 delegates from Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and Indiana, sponsored by the Batavia Rotary Club. Milford Boy Escapes Injury In 60-Foot Fall
