Batavia high school hosted Winchester at the Armory last Friday in a rapid game. Batavia lost 35 to 22 though several players lost their bearings while Winchester relied on two main scorers. Over 100 Winchester rooters attended as the visitors held an 8 point halftime lead of 9 to 7.

Pleasant Surprise Honors Glen Rose Couple on Birthday
A surprise party was held Sunday March 18 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Perkins in Glen Rose for his 80th birthday, two days after his death was noted in the article. Twenty guests, including family and friends, attended a fine dinner. Mr Perkins, 80, and Mrs Perkins, 75, enjoy good health for their ages. Mr Perkins is a Civil War veteran with grandsons and a grandson-in-law who served in World War I in France.
