The El Rancho Rankin Motel at 5218 hmont Ave installs a $20,000 Guest Planned Telephone Service enabling guests to dial local or long distance calls, certain inside calls, and use a message waiting feature. One digit quick dialing connects to room service valet reservations and other services, bypassing the switchboard. A red message waiting light signals awaiting messages at the desk.

Two Clermont Countians Among Ohio Highway Patrolmen

Colonel Radcliffe cites that only two of Ohio's 850 patrolmen hail from Clermont County. Ptl. Allen J. Gibson of Williamsburg and Fr. Donald E. Bethel Church Votes to Build New Auditorium

At its annual meeting on March 6 Bethel Church of Christ voted to accept Dawson Evans Co. of Cincinnati for tearing down the present 1866 auditorium and constructing a 58 by 72 foot limestone and brick building with laminated arches and exposed wood ceiling. The 600 seat design includes 400 on the main floor and 200 in the balcony, plus a full basement for Bible school rooms. Construction to begin soon with completion in the fall. consulting engineer to be selected. Planning committee led by Stanley Berry includes Frank Howe Virgil McClanahan James Walters Tom Gackin Jr and Emil Jett.

County Teachers Go To Scheol Too

The College of Education and Home Economics at the University of Cincinnati offers three graduate courses in Clermont County this semester. Ten teachers and administrators form the class in School Building and Equipment taught by Dr Leonard Chaffee meeting Mondays at Williamsburg high school with school visitations. Break in at Albers Oil Co and School News

Three intruders broke into the Albers Oil Co in Vera Cruz and the Elizabeth Seton Parish School area early Thursday. Two wounded men are hospitalized with shotgun wounds as Gordon LeBar fired at the fleeing trio. Police captured Lyman Hensley and Latham after tracing vehicle license plates. Clinching arrests followed by Clermont and Brown County authorities. Meanwhile a Clermont Northeastern class focuses on practical audio visual concepts for day to day classroom relations.

Williamsburg Chair Factory Sells Play Furniture Line

Williamsburg Chair Factory in Clermont County has sold its play furniture line to Connor Furber and Land Colona. No furniture was exchanged. the firm will continue producing high chairs and play pens. The deal aims to shift toward juvenile furniture while retaining as many of its 75 employees as possible. James C. White, president and GM, cited shrinking hardwood supply and distribution changes as reasons for the move. The Connor company produces wood products including lumber, flooring, plywood, and cabinets. Williamsburg traces its roots to 1870 with William White, expanding through North Front Street plant by 1907, surviving the 1929 crash and 1946 corporate changes under Nicholas White and his sons.

Milford Women Hear Ed Wimmer At March Meeting

Milford Area Business and Professional Women's Club schedules a dinner meeting March 19 at 7 p.m. at the Homestead Inn open to all interested. Guest speaker Ed Wimmer of South Fort Kitchell Kentucky founded the Forward America Publishing Guild Inc in 1932 to promote family farms local banks and independent enterprises. He is a radio commentator of nine years and writes under Ed Wimmer in the Cincinnati Enquirer and Dayton Daily News. He authored A Nation in Chains and in 1946 was elected VP of the National Federation of Independent Business Inc. and leads Cincinnati Public Relations.

Sponsors Urge Youth Employment Service In West Clermont

Last Monday night 20 people attended an organizational meeting at Amelia high school for the West Clermont Youth Employment Service initiated by the Amelia Women's Civic Club. Dr. Albert Anderson spoke on the need and the group discussed challenges from volunteer work to public relations and employer outreach as they plan to place over 600 students in part time jobs.

Circle Freeway plan advances in Clermont County

Milford executives report progress on the Circle Freeway from Wards Corner Road to Route 125 a 12.8 mile segment costing about 21 million with 90 percent federal funding. Maps of the route are displayed in Milford Bernges Dry Cleaners Mt Repose Fireside Realty and Union Township Hall while planners push Nine Mile Road alignment.

Progress reports and new officers for Milford committees

The Milford committee outlines progress funding activities and arranging meetings with civic and business groups. At the last regular meeting two new officers were named: Robert Tilley as treasurer and Wayne Smith as assistant treasurer.
