Roy Battles to Return for Edu-Rec Club Dinner

Roy Battles a Clermont County native and long time agriculture and radio professional will return to Clermont County for the Edu-Rec Club annual dinner at the D X Ranch on March 16. Dinner costs two dollars per person with reservations due by March 9 to John Ruolf or Mrs. Philip Boyd. The Edu-Rec Club aids older youths with recreation and educational opportunities.

Phone Line Cut Cuts 194 Customers in Flood Area

A 400 pair aerial telephone cable was severed by the rising Little Miami River cutting service to 209 phone customers in Mt. Carmel and areas off Round Bottom. Service was restored to business, utility and physician customers by Tuesday afternoon though many Mt. Carmel customers remained out until Friday. Four miles of cable are being rushed from Baltimore as crews work around the clock to restore lines out of flood range.

Moore To Speak At Batavia PTA Meeting

County Schools Superintendent Harry Moore will address the Batavia PTA on March 14 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Rev. Charles Bower gives the invocation, with music by the fifth and sixth grade chorus directed by Wilma Marugg. The program includes the senior class introduction and nominating committee report. Refreshments follow.

Batavia High School Earns National Honor Society Charter

Twelve Batavia students were invited to join the National Honor Society. The school requires a 90 average for members, with emphasis on scholarship character service and leadership. New members will be chosen each quarter. juniors and seniors are currently eligible.

Mrs. Anna Little, 88, longtime Courier correspondent for Pt Isabel, suffered a stroke at her Pt Isabel home on February 24. She is the mother of R G Little, a member of the Clermont County board of education.

Ford Awards Honor Clermont County Residents for Service

Four Clermont County residents were named Ford Community Service Award winners, led by Shirley Swart of Moscow recognized as Citizen of the Year. Insurance Agents Hear From Wilson At Clermont Meeting

County Recorder Reports February Real Estate Activity

County Recorder William Shebesta reports 220 deeds recorded in February, five fewer than February 1962. Mortgages filed totaled 228, up eight from last year, valued at 3,516,912 versus 2,408,828 last February. Financing statements reached 471, charter mortgages 612, with fees totaling 2,231.45 compared with 1,969.95.

The Clermont County Health Advisory Council named George eks to succeed Thomas Maloney on the county health board and chose Harry Clark for the other vacancy. Clarke had 11 votes. Maloney 5.
