Boys Summoned for Car Theft Suspects Held at County Jail
Sheriff Croswell and Deputy Daw son summoned to Moscow last Tuesday night to arrest three men in a Ford stolen at Toledo. The pair were brought to Batavia jail to await officers for return. They admitted taking the car and the trip. Officers reclaimed them on Thursday. While here they were guests of the county sheriff and Croswell kept eleven boarders. The boys appreciated the cats and bed during their stay.

Fire Threat Fought at Epworth Church on Grant Highway
Sunday night February 28 the Amelia M BE church in the furnace room caught fire. Smoke filled the church and entrance to the cellar was blocked by smoke. Firefighters and chemical equipment quickly controlled the blaze with $250 insurance coverage for damages. It narrowly didn’t destroy the house of worship on the Grant Highway.

County School Notes Boy’s Basketball Tournament Winners
The Boys' Basketball Tournament at Williamsburg was a success with Batavia taking first and Owensville second, earning a shot at the District Tournament in Dayton on March 12 and 13.
