The Clermont County Teachers Association spring session will be held April 9 1927 at Batavia town hall with Professor Cooper of Ohio University delivering the chief address in the forenoon. The afternoon features an Oratory and Music Contest with local eliminations at Milford New Richmond and Bethel and a county final on April 28 at Batavia with contestants from Clermont Brown Hamilton and Butler counties.

Prison Enlarged As State Keeps Old Penitentiary
Legislation aims to enlarge the current prison rather than build a new one. The London prison farm will expand quickly and the old Spring Street institution to house at least 500 more prisoners. Rail interests showed demand for the penitentiary site, with talk of a new Union Station if purchased from the State.

Hog cholera hits Hast Fork farmers near Twin Bridges
Harry King, a Prosperous Hast Fork farmer near Twin Bridges, reports 16 brood sows and fattening hogs killed by hog cholera last week. Local hog men fear spread via waterborne germs and nearby birds. Hogs were buried and lime used to curb infection. no immediate cases reported, but creek downstream remains at risk.

Ohio Experiment Station tests with White Leghorn pullets find hatch rates rise when hens have access to green feed and sunlight. Rations with alfalfa and soybean hay, and bluegrass range, yielded hatch percentages from 59 to 66 percent compared to 34 percent with basal feed alone. High quality leafy hay may improve hatchability, egg output, and flock health.
