Dental Groups To Take Part In Clinic In Cincinnati

The Cincinnati Dental Society hosts its 41st annual March Clinic Meeting March 16 17 18 at the Netherland Hilton with the Cincinnati Dental Hygienists and Dental Assistants participating. Mary Frances Johnson and Juanita Bohl lead plans for their groups. Bohl is a Williamsburg resident and former Cincinnati Dental Association treasurer. A Dental Career Day luncheon on March 18 features a diploma ceremony for certificated American Dental Assistants Association members, with a list of honorees. Both groups will display exhibits in table clinics after the luncheon.

Distressed Title Sought By City

Loveland seeks residents to urge congressmen to classify Warren and Hamilton County parts as distressed to qualify Loveland for federal grants for sewer and water upgrades. The city has state approval to six more months to plan an $880,000 sewer and disposal program. A March 17 meeting will review a master city plan including zoning and building code ordinances by Dr. Rudolph Frankel of Miami University.

Local Cancer Unit Audits Funds and Independence Plan

Mrs. Romaine Wingo, treasurer of the Clermont County Unit of the American Cancer Society, details 1962 receipts of 9 708 49 and expenses of 3 990 60 with cash in bank 7 417 75 and funds available for 1962 63 at 3 719 26. She notes continued reliance on National and Division headquarters but aims for greater independence after the 1963 Crusade.

Two Fires Destroy Milford Afton Homes Causing 17300 Damages

Milford and Aston Williamsburg fire crews battled two blazes causing about 17300 in damage. In Milford a heater exploded, igniting a garage and a second home on High Street, with no injuries. In Aston Williamsburg a six room frame home suffered about 5000 damage from a furnace fire.

Dog Warden Impounds Eight Dogs Over Neglect

County Dog Warden Jim Begley seized eight dogs from Frank Evans of Rt. 1 New Richmond after finding they had not been fed or watered for a week. Evans was cited to County Court, fined $25 with the fine suspended, and ordered to pay a $30 feed bill. the dogs were not returned.

Firefighters battle hourlong blaze at Curtis Lane home

Williamsburg firemen fought a one hour fire at the Roy Faudee residence on Curtis Lane early Thursday. Two rooms were destroyed with damage around $5,000. The fire appeared to start from an overheated furnace.

Two Men Punished For Forgery And Larceny

Robert R. Henderson aged 32 of Batavia received a sentence of one to twenty years in the Ohio State Penitentiary after conviction for forgery. He forged a $500 check on December 8 and cashed it at the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Williamsburg. Henderson was arrested in Pineville Kentucky by Police Chief R C Vice. Bill Burns aged 23 of Hewmersville was arrested February 5 for theft of an electric sewing machine valued at $180.36 from Thelma Temenichel in Williamsburg and placed on five years probation February 25 by Judge Osborne. Burns was arrested February 5 by R C Vice in Hamilton County.

Cafe Permits Suspended After MinorWine Sale Conviction

Charles W. Wilson dba Bills Cafe in Williamsburg had liquor permits Class D-1 and D-2 suspended for a period beginning March 12 after a conviction for allowing an agent to sell wine to a minor under the Liquor Control Act.

Students and Teachers Honored in State Science Ceremony

Junior and senior science students from Clermont Northeastern and Amelia high schools, with their teachers, were honored Feb 22 23 in Ohio's first state wide science scholars program by the Ohio Science Education Association. Dr William Shockley spoke at the recognition dinner, highlighting creativity in education.

Louise Rockwood of Loveland and Fred Eichenberger of UC redesigned the 1963 64 catalogs covers to match tassel colors of UC colleges. Each unit's catalog is now easier to distinguish, replacing the previous uniform black type cover.

Charles M. Whitmer, 31, with a prior forgery record, received a sentence of one to seven years in the state penitentiary after pleading guilty to larceny by trick in Cincinnati Criminal Court. He allegedly cashed a $115 check belonging to another at Cohen Shoe Store in Cincinnati.

Sodality to Hear Prisoner of Reds

Mt. Carmel St. Veronica's Ladies Altar Sodality will meet Tuesday night March 5 at 8 after Rosary. Guest speaker Father William, Passionist Order, spent 29 years in China under Communists, was under house arrest five years and in solitary confinement one year. He now heads the Passionist Monastery in Mt. Adams.
