The Clermont Saddle Club discussed a six county horse show for June with guests from Hillsboro including the Tuckers Blounts McCauns Vogel and Caroline Vogel and Louise Moore. Committees were formed for six show classes and a Junior Saddle Club organized with Frank Backscheider as president.

Batavia Teams Triumph Over Milford In Local Basketball Night
A Batavia High School girls team beat Milford 16 to 12 in basketball Friday night while the Batavia boys also defeated Milford. Ora Ferree withdrew from the tournament to enter Leba non High School in Ohio. A game of basketball had been scheduled with the last team of Ohio for Friday evening.

Local Men Receive Highest Scout Award
Judge Orville W Halbisch and Russel F Speidel of Batavia received the Silver Beaver award from the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The honors were given at the Cincinnati Area Council annual dinner at the Hotel Gibson in Cincinnati last Thursday night. Speidel was cited for civic and youth service, while Halbisch’s work leading Clermont County Juvenile Court was noted. Another Clermont County holder is John P Friend Jr.
