Dalton's, billed as the largest suburban ladies and girls apparel store in Cincinnati, unveils a new Mt Washington store. The store features turquoise and pink decor, lime oak showcases, daylight fluorescent lighting, year round air conditioning, and sections for millinery ready to wear and fashion accessories from the Independent Retailers' Syndicate, a $400 million yearly business.

Courier Staffer to Take Kent Photo Short Course

Delford Fortney, a Clermont Courier staffer and Jerald Fortney’s nephew, will attend Kent State University’s four day 1952 Short Course in Photography from March 18 to 21. He will hear renowned lensmen including Phillippe Halsman and Joseph Costa as the Courier continues its pattern of sending a photographer to Kent for ongoing photo journalism training.

Army Officer Marries Cincinnati Girl in Carmel

Maj Donald McGraw son of Mr and Mrs Virgil McGraw married Miss Ruth Shierloh daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Shierloh at her Evanswood Place Cincinnati home. Capt Jack Osteen served as best man. They will reside at Fort Benning Georgia after a two week honeymoon in Florida and Nassau. Captain Osteen is a Batavia high school graduate and stationed with the groom at the southern camp.

Driver Hurt When Auto Over turns on Wet Road

Goshen麻n Ray Nantz of Martinsville received minor injuries when his car skidded on a wet Hill Station Road and overturned three times. He was alone and taken to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital by Monroe Ambulance Service. After treatment for facial cuts he was released home.

Two Boys Sentenced to Lancaster Industrial School

In Batavia two teenage boys were committed to the Industrial School at Lancaster by Probate Judge Orville Halbisch. One faced charges of attempted auto theft and the other of breaking and entering.

Tragic carbon monoxide deaths near Toledo claim two

Robert Walter Lay twenty of Batavia and an unidentified female companion died from carbon monoxide poisoning in a car on a lonely road near Swan Township about twenty miles from Toledo. The girl died en route to hospital. Lay had recently passed his Army induction physical. The girl’s identity is unknown to Lay’s family but suspected to be a Willys Overland worker in Neapolis. Surviving relatives include Lay’s father, mother in Cincinnati, two sisters, two grandmothers, and a stepmother.

Cats donated to Clermont County Home aid pest control

Three cats were given to the Clermont County Home after an appeal in Along the Way three weeks earlier. Mrs. Clyde Boner says the cats are fine but more are needed to handle rodents and provide companionship for the residents as the home had run out of mousers and life there changed.
