The Amelia Jr. and Sr. High School PTA invites March 23 at 8 p.m. for a play Tomorrow is Now by Xavier Players followed by a discussion led by Family Service. Also notes local honors, pilot licensing, bridge talks, diaper survey, pottery history inquiry, DAR prayer and a George Washington meditation.
Mussey asks Ohio Department of Natural Resources officials to hold a briefing soon to answer residents questions. A similar request was sent to the U S Army Corps of Engineers in Louisville. The briefing aims to establish current and proposed property lines and will not cover property settlements or park facilities. The meeting time will be announced when definite.
The Milford High School gym hosts the annual pop concert on Friday March 5 at 8 p.m. directed by Jim Clark. The program features the concert and stage band, chorus and madrigal singers. A 1930s and 40s dance runs 9:30 to 11 p.m. in the cafeteria with Cincinnati Chamber Rock and Milford High folk singers. Katavia Ohio vol CXXXIV no 50.
Clermont County begins annual heat testing in Batavia St Louis Amelia and nearby districts with tests scheduled from March through April. Parents will be notified by districts and consent slips funded by Christmas Seals are handled by local health and TB RD associations. John L. Watson announces Sidwell resigns as Central Committee chairman effective immediately. Watson to remain precinct committeeman.
Batavia Mayor Richard Jamieson was re elected chairman and Minton Christ man Miami Township Clerk Secretary at Clermont County Health Advisory Board annual meeting. Clermont County Solid Wastes Technical Advisory Committee seeks land for a sanitary landfill. Property owners may contact Mr. Harvey Hines at the Board of Health or Harry Reed at the Planning Commission in Batavia Ohio. Preferred sites should have 50 acres or more with gentle terrain and good access, not prone to flooding.
Milford High Eagles beat Aiken 48 to 47 in the first round. They advance to play the Purcell Cavaliers at 8 30 tonight at the U C Field House. Milford stands 18 1, Purcell 12 6.
Clermont County's 1970 census count shows 95 725 residents, up 18.9 percent from 1960. The county remains largely rural with 69.9 percent rural and 30.1 percent urban, 26 630 households, owner occupancy at 76.9 percent, and median owner house value of 16 000 dollars.
Capt. Russell E. Willis of the Union Township Police Department is named the 1970 Fred Holt Award winner for outstanding law enforcement service. The award includes a engraved .38 revolver. Judges cited his off duty investigation of burglaries and auto thefts across Clermont County as the basis for the honor.
