Grange members map county program and lessons

Clermont County Grange groups met over the past weeks to plan a year of Grange work. Lecturers convened at a deputy’s home and home economics committee meetings at Bantam and Newtonsville featured Pearl Bailey as a presenter. The program aims to boost county wide education and efforts to earn Banner County status this year.

Batavia Grange Plans Annual Get-Together

Batavia Grange will host its annual get-together on Thursday March 12 at 8 15 p m in the basement of the U B Church Batavia The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has accepted an invitation to attend with Mr A W Short chief of game management and propagation giving a lecture supported by moving pictures for farm groups Members of all Granges are urged to attend and all farm people are invited to join the event.

All County Defense Boards Meet Sunday in Clermont

Over 200 members from Clermont County villages and townships attended the Sunday gathering at the Batavia armory to answer to the county chairman and advisory committee. The message urged Milford as a model and called for serious civilian defense planning to repel a potential enemy air attack over Cincinnati.

Roosa Elected Director Of Loveland Association

At the annual Loveland National Farm Loan Association meeting H. C. Roosa of Foster Ohio was elected director for a three year term, succeeding himself. Ray W. Ferree was named president with Roosa as vice president and R. HE. Gifford as secretary treasurer. The group noted five years of rising collections with no delinquent tax borrowers and only one delinquent in installments.

Sixty four Clermont county men inducted into Army

Sixty four Clermont county men were inducted into the United States Army on Thursday. In two weeks about eighty more will undergo final physicals at Army medical headquarters in Cincinnati. The list includes Jack C. Kily of Milford and four enlistees in the Air Corps and Marine Corps, with numerous other names from Milford Loveland Batavia and surrounding towns.

Victory Book Campaign Starts In Batavia Area

School officials announce the Victory Book Campaign sponsored by the United Service Organizations will begin in Batavia and nearby areas next week. Superintendent Paul K. Moore leads the effort to collect books to send to Army Navy and Marine training centers. Donors may place books at the Batavia post office First National Bank or the school building by March 11.
