Dam Threat at Jackson Fishing Lake Prompts Evacuations
County police and firemen along with Civil Defense volunteers and state police battled through Monday night to reinforce a dam at Jackson Fishing Lake near Glen Este. The 15 acre lake two miles long risked breaking the earth fill and flooding Route 74, prompting evacuations of 10 families and closure of the highway.
