Death of R L Gest in New Richmond
Robert L Gest known as Sonny died at his New Richmond home on February 24 1909 in his 67th year. Born in Batavia he learned tin making with Col J S Dustin then moved to New Richmond forty years ago to work his own business. He suffered blood poisoning after an injured foot leading to amputation and death. Gest was an exemplary public spirited citizen with unsullied character.
