Flood plans organized for river communities

A New Richmond meeting crafted an evacuation and shelter plan for Clermont County river towns as the Ohio River rose in late January. The plan designates a flood committee led by Mayor Arthur Galea with officials from the police, fire, school system, bank, and local agencies to activate at 52 ft and coordinate shelters, mobile home removals, and emergency services at the elementary school and municipal buildings.

Clermont County Receives State School Funds

State Auditor Thomas E. Ferguson announced the State School Foundation Subsidy has been sent to Clermont County. The county's share for nine area districts is 1,126,211.29 dollars. Payments to districts are distributed by county auditors. joint vocational districts receive funds directly by their clerk treasurers. City and local districts received 32,099,255.44 and 23,551,615.76 dollars respectively, with exempted village districts sharing 2,974,973.81 dollars.
