Two Members Resign County Board Posts

Clermont County Commissioners report resignations from the County Planning Commission and the County Board of Mental Retardation. Ann Gruber of Bethel and Sheddy Hondorf had resigned, with Hondorf previously convicted of marijuana selling. Sam Maham of Williamsburg also stepped down from the Planning Commission. The board seeks a prosecutor opinion on replacing members after missed meetings. Bids were received for bridge and road work and for highway trucks, with International Harvester and Jack Lytle Chevrolet among bidders.

Bethel Bank reports earnings per share up 21 percent to 7.22 for 1972 and total resources reaching 5.453 million. Clermont County Chamber to Host Economic Development Breakfast

Clermont County Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee will host a breakfast on March 1 at 8:30 a.m. featuring Ohio Department of Transportation official Robert Bevis. He will discuss the Nixon highway fund freeze, completion of federally funded highways, and the county’s intercounty transport plans including U.S. 50, the Appalachian Highway and I-275. meals will be served by Clermont General and Technical College Restaurant Management students.

Mrs Sheddy Hondorf of Todds Run Road Williamsburg was placed on five years probation after being convicted February 6 of selling marijuana Judge Ralph A Hill ordered she resign from the Board of Mental Retardation and subject her home to search He warned that a felony arrest or conviction could cost twenty years of life Her Cincinnati attorney Allen Brown labeled her an extraordinary woman and criticized trial gossip while noting marijuana is akin to tolerated drugs.

Harsha Seeks Sixth District Views via Massive Poll

Clermont County Homestead Tax Exemption Deadline June 4

County homeowners 65 and older must file for the homestead exemption by June 4 to continue tax relief. Auditor Arnold Stumpf invites applicants at the courthouse with staff assistance available. Exemption amounts depend on income, with reductions from 70 to 40 percent based on thresholds.

Zoning Plan Review For Batavia Township Development

A Batavia Township zoning committee meeting reviewed proposed plans by Hodges and partners for a 67 acre mall type shopping center with 100 foot greenbelts and mixed uses including offices a drug store and laboratories. They discussed B-1 and R-3 zoning possibilities and questioned traffic and highway interchange impacts. The committee will send recommendations to the Batavia Township Trustees for final decision and public release after notice to applicant and trustees.

O K I To Study Regional Planning With HUD Grant

The Ohio Kentucky Indiana regional planning authority O K I signs a contract with Ohio development to receive a 20000 HUD grant plus 10000 in kind funds for a feasibility study. The effort aims to revamp organization to better address regional problems and possibly expand planning from ten counties to eleven.
