The injunction suit by John W. Houser against the Clérmont county commissioners to halt a $300 salary cut was compromised Friday. Terms restore $85 monthly pay, require Houser to cover delinquent children care, and recoup $75 paid for last quarter of 1938.
The annual Grange banquet at the U B church basement scheduled for Thursday night this week has been postponed indefinitely. Rev Smith, Master.
Clermont County Brotherhood gathering attracted a good crowd Thursday evening at the M E church with David Roberts speaking on Conservation of Wildlife. The next meeting is set for Milford on March 28 and refreshments including coffee and cherry pie were served.
Miss Anna Ranson long time Batavia Cincinnati teacher died at her sister Helen Ranson in Minneapolis on Friday February 24 after three years illness from a hip fracture. She taught in Clermont county Batavia Madisonville and served as critic teacher at Cincinnati University and Miami University conducting model classes. She leaves a sister Helen Ranson librarian in Minneapolis and a brother Albert with many Batavia Cincinnati friends attending the Moore Funeral Home service Sunday afternoon.
Bethel High School Alumni Association will hold a public alumni meeting at the Bethel School on Wednesday March 1 at 8 00 PM All members from different classes are urged to attend and share ideas for the coming year. Vivian E Schneider Alumni Sec.
Owensville Grange plans a Saturday program at 1 pm March 4 at Miami Grange. Clermont county Granges have begun chain invitation events, inviting visiting Granges to perform and receive a bottle of seeds to take home. Mayme Ulrey, Lecturer, urges strong Owensville representation at Milford for continued program coverage.
Batavia schools reopen after a ten day recess due to a mild county influenza outbreak. Amelia schools briefly opened then closed as 31 percent of grades 1-6 and 26 percent of grades 7-12 were absent. Bethel and Felicity schools report improved attendance and plan to stay open if this trend continues.
The Masonic Lodge of Owensville will hold inspection at their temple this night, Wednesday. All brothers are invited. Geo. Mull, master, will preside. Refreshments will be served.
Miss Melle Stark aged 72 died Friday at her home after a prolonged illness. Sister of A C Stark and daughter of the late Chas Stark, she moved from the farm to Batavia years ago where she died. Survived by a brother and a sister Mrs Seth Hutchinson of Owensville. Funeral Monday afternoon from Moore Funeral Home, burial in Union Cemetery.
Clermont County officials Manly Hill and Sam Ausman announced a compromise over the superintendent salary and delinquent children care. The $300 set aside for delinquent children is restored to the superintendent, with care provided at no extra county cost. Houser must return $75 received last quarter of 1988.
Charles McBeth sixty died at his Felicity home last Friday after thirty years in Franklin Township. Funeral services were Sunday at Broadwell Funeral Home Felicity. Burial followed at Ohio Odd Fellows Cemetery. He is survived by his widow Angie McBeth a daughter Dale Woodmansee another daughter Byron Simmer man a son Worth McBeth a brother Ira McBeth and four sisters Bessie Reichardt Amy Buckley Myrtle Dobie.

Relatives and friends gathered at the Mosbackers home on Sunday to honor their crystal wedding anniversary. They arrived with well-filled baskets of gifts and cats, and the day was enjoyed by all.
Neighbors and friends surprised Mrs. Forester on her birthday Wednesday night February 22 at Amelia. The gathering included contests and games, a lunch of salad cake and coffee, with well wishes for many more happy birthdays.
The Bethel school hosts an exhibition of 150 famous paintings and watercolors announced by Superintendent H J Badgley. Viewing is 2 to 4 PM daily and 8 PM Friday with the school orchestra. Tickets are 25 and 10 cents, proceeds funding the school art program. Students tour by class 9 AM to 2 PM, with guides discussing each work.
County Commissioners approved a plan drafted by County Engineer Carl H. Rush to mark all county roads in Clermont. The project, still in early stages, would use 10 foot wood sign posts bearing road names at road ends. It will operate as a WPA project with the county providing materials and WPA supplying labor. State law requires marking, though many counties have not yet done so.
Elmer F Kruse announces a series of Agricultural Adjustment Administration radio programs on WLW Cincinnati from February 28 to March 11. Farmers and AAA officials from Ohio Indiana West Virginia and Kentucky will discuss the 1939 farm program in sessions every Tuesday Thursday and Saturday with special news broadcasts on March 4 and March 11.
Mildred Floyd of Cincinnati was picked up in an intoxicated state about 4:30 PM one mile west of Bantam on Route 125. She was taken to Bethel jail, released next morning, and said she planned to go to Blaine, Kentucky to live with her mother and brother.
Ohio State University students from Brown and Clermont counties organize a new club. Officers elected include Arthur Davis Milford president Merrill W. Ru sher Milford vice president Helen Parker Georgetown secretary and Car vil Smalley Milford treasurer.

Thirty seven seniors at Ohio State University College of Engineering were elected to Tau Beta Pi according to Robert J. Hanville. The list includes Virgil Iles of Batavia among the new members.
About 100 sport lovers met in Bethel Memorial Building Friday to form a countywide Conservation and Sportsmen’s organization. Dr H M Wymer chaired. David W Roberts spoke. By laws, officers to be elected March 24 after a fish fry in the Memorial Building.
