The Clermont Courier reports Thomas S. Hill calls for the best farmers to join ASC community committees. Eligible voters may nominate candidates by petitions signed by six or more voters before July 13, 1966, at the ASCS county office.
County bond sales for May totaled $58 665 while Ohio savings bonds rose to $26.7 million in May and $136.2 million for January through May. Clermont County Chairman Charles Schneider noted July 31 deadline figures and the amended Treasury rules allowing large Series H bonds as gifts to tax exempt groups. Ballots for ASC community committee elections go by mail July 29 to August 8 with three committeemen and two alternates per community.
A 7 lb plus carp won $10 for Sebery Hill at Cabin Run Lakes Park Cincinnati after being caught June 11. The park offers all day fishing with a snack bar picnic area and shelter house run by Herbert T Bogert. The lakes were stocked this week. The Ohio State Horticultural Society summer meeting and tour are set for June 30 with headquarters at Salem Fruit Growers packing plant Greenford co sponsored by Ohio Apple Institute and OSHS with a brief annual membership meeting.
