Signatures Filed for Milford Fluoridation Referendum
William Storch filed petitions with Milford Clerk Ruth Brower seeking a vote on November 8 1966 to approve or reject fluoridation of Milford water. The 325 signatures were gathered by a volunteer committee including Walter Doll Jr Carl Kietzman and Storch. Noted that supporters and opponents acknowledged civil liberties in backing the referendum. Clermont County Republican Club guest Lt Governor John W Brown will speak July 14 at D X Ranch as Milford Council had approved funding for fluoridation equipment bids. The next Board meeting was postponed to July 15 due to member travel.

Union Township trustees met June 28 1966 to advertise for a new truck and set July 29 for a bid opening. Clerk Lois J Donnellon reported 4990 57 spent in cemetery road general and miscellaneous funds plus a June 17 special meeting showed five checks of 10500 each and a tractor purchase of 7625 90.

Rhodes to Dedicate Industrial Park in Union Township

County Court Opens New Quarters in County Building
Clermont County Court moved to the first floor of the County Office Building at Third and Main, in air conditioned quarters seating 96. Judges Erhardt Jackson and Schwartz serve there with deputy clerk Mae Reynolds and court clerks Schlosser and Heckathorn. The old courtroom becomes the engineering office as elections and education offices plan future moves.

Fire Destroys Home on Nine Mile Road
Fire destroyed the residence of Robert Anter at 3608 Nine Mile Rd. Monday morning. Williamsville Tobasco Fire Department arrived at 11 a.m. and found the house ablaze. North Union and Pierce Township Fire Departments assisted as crews emptied a tanker and creek water to fight the blaze. The house was beyond saving upon arrival.

Ohio Patrol Adopts New Uniforms For Summer Wear
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers unveil a new summer shirt design marking the first change in 33 years. Short sleeves in the same color and fabric as the long sleeve version feature the Flying Wheel insignia on each shoulder and metallic chevrons at the collar to indicate rank. Lieutenants and above retain the traditional long sleeve shirt.

Secretary of State Ted W Brown hosts a four day conference on elections at the Sheraton Cleveland Hotel August 17 to 20. Civic Group Seeks Water Rate Cut in Clermont County
Al Fangman and Irene Hassel brock of the Upper Clough Civic Club urged Clermont County Commissioners to reduce PUB water rates citing a nine month delay and a $990,000 federal grant. They pressed for a $1.60 monthly cut and a $4.00 minimum, arguing fairness compared with Hamilton County. They sent petitions and warned against spending plans for new mains funded by existing high rates.
