Clermont Commissioners Approve Bills and Five Road Projects

Clermont County Commissioners met in Batavia and approved bills totaling numerous line items for gas, maintenance, and supplies. They discussed road work on Clough Pike projects 69 and 70 with a total estimate of 2542.12 and 0.40 miles of widening. treasurer bond set at 25000 and deputy dog warden funding approved.

Courier Publishes Commissioners Reports Within 48 Hours

Due to the effort of Louise Lytle Anstaett a Courier typist, the paper now carries commissioners reports for the previous two weeks the same week they are compiled. The service delivers bills allowed road projects considered and engineer estimates to subscribers within 48 hours after meetings.

Batavia Woman Sues for 25000 After Car Collision

Mrs. Dale Miller of Batavia files suit in Clermont county Court of Common Pleas against Geo. Wells of Oakley Cincinnati seeking 25000 damages for injuries from a May 23 collision at 2am when his car struck the vehicle she rode in alleging careless and negligent driving.

Pretty wedding at Amelia parsonage in Bethel area

The Methodist parsonage in Amelia hosted a wedding for Catherine Moore of Bethel and Forrest Barkley of New Richmond, officiated by Rev. Hazelwood. The bride wore blue organdie and carried white Snapdragons and Baby's Breath. reception followed at the Moore home. The couple left for a western honeymoon and will reside in Bethel after July 5.

Coroner ruled accidental death. WPA workers met to form Clermont County Union with elected Ted Alpin as chair and Milton Day as secretary. Township committees named and monthly meetings set. Burglaries in Felicity and countywide WPA work disruptions noted.

Bethel physician Dr W E Thompson turns 102 on July 6 while still active and alert. He serves patients, reads daily, and recalls Civil War era history, Underground Railroad stories, and Grant era leadership. Batavia Robbery Foiled By Punctured Tire

Sheriff Auxier reports a Batavia store robbery foiled when a punctured tire halted two suspects two miles west of Batavia near Olive Branch. A 17 year old Williamsburg youth alerted officers after a suspicious hold up, leading to a pursuit toward Cincinnati and renewed investigations. The haul included dress goods clothing and a radio valued around 300 dollars. license traced to Cincinnati. One burglar identified and arrests expected soon.

Rotary Club Camp Opens Monday for 60 Children

The Rotary Club Camp for crippled children opened Monday at the old Highland Park near Olive Branch with sixty children in attendance. Operated entirely by the Cincinnati Rotary Club, it offers one month of healthful outdoor play and free instruction in handiwork. The program includes Sunday entertainments with entertainers from Cincinnati and annual pageants and pantomimes staged by the children.

Cramer-Warrick Vows Sealed At Pretty Wedding

A home ceremony united Ethel Cramer and Harold Warrick at the Ora Cramer residence in Union. The bride wore georgette lace and pearls with three sisters as attendants. The Rev. Jack Kneisley officiated before about fifty relatives. Afterward the couple planned a Leban on home.

Lukemire resigns after decades at Williamsburg Cemetery
