Several 4-H groups across the region held meetings at local clubs and schools. Members read menus, planned fruit preparation demos, and cooked personal recipes while officers announced upcoming gatherings and joint project sessions for late June and early July.
Callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cornell on Sunday afternoon included Mr. and Mrs. Geo Small of Opa-Loka Flo, Mrs. Paul Slade and son Lloyd, and Jean Clements of Madisonville. Erma Stevens from Ohio State University visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Stevens for the weekend.
The report covers the wedding of Shirley Samples and Cleotus Isaacs at a church Saturday evening with maid of honor Ida Samples and best man Donald Samples. An informal reception followed at Mt. Pisgah Civic Club. It also notes Douglas McMillian joining Milling Machine Company of Cincinnati and a two-car collision on the A and P Highway near New Richmond injuring several people.
The Community Club gathered Thursday June 22 at Cranston Hall with a 6:30 p m covered dish supper. Canasta was the highlight as guests included new engineers and wives on assignment with the Gas & Electric Company. The Mary Martha Club met Wednesday with Mrs Eileen Painter.
Mrs Claude Tarvin and son Jimmie visit Newport Kentucky. Rev Arthur Widlak from Brooklyn serves Christian Chapel Church for the summer. Bible school starts July 10 at Amelia. many residents host and visit relatives in Ohio Indiana Kentucky and Michigan including Mr and Mrs J E B Lytle and Mr and Mrs Howard Brotherton with Bible class and church programs.
Glenifste Mrs. Earle Johnson visited Mr and Mrs H B Smythe Friday evening. James Morrison hosted Sunday dinner with Geo Deisel in Cincinnati. Frank Urban celebrated their wedding anniversary on June 25 with dinner at Kettler Inn. Honored guests were Will and others.
Mr and Mrs Cecil Sherritt of Louisville Kentucky hosted Friday guests including Mrs Ralph Ford who has just recovered from Good Samaritan Hospital. Jill Ford stayed with Bob McVite at Pleasant Ridge while Michael Ford visited his grandparents Huse and Mom Ford of Level Ohio. Irene Rosselot joined Joyce Eppensteiner of Norwood for a two week camp at Ft Scott. Mrs Ray Schuster held her bridge club gathering last Wednesday evening.
