Liberty Bell Visits Batavia County Courthouse
A replica of the Liberty Bell toured Batavia for ceremonies on June 16 at the county courthouse. Bob Dorsey gave the welcoming address as scouts and Ohio National Guard aided the visit. Roy Battles rang the bell with Rev. Fred Mark and Forrest Ely presenting the event’s meaning. Peter Grant of W L W radio narrated the history and significance of the bell. County awards parking lot contract and assigns vehicles
The Clermont County Commissioners awarded a parking lot resurfacing contract to W. I. Construction Co. with Carl Rush, the county engineer, authorized to oversee the project. Mack's Chevrolet will supply a 1950 Chevrolet special business coupe for the engineer's office and a Ford police car is allocated for Sheriff Clyde B. Dericks.

Seven Injured In Weekend Auto Crashes Across County
A weekend surge in crashes left seven people injured across Butler County. Two Blanchester youths suffered leg, facial and head injuries when their car hit an electric pole at Route 50 and Tyler Avenue in Milford. Another collision on Route 52 near New Richmond injured Mary Peddicord, Ralph Stairs, and Vincent Baker, with Peddicord and Stairs nursing cuts and abrasions and Baker suffering head wounds. A separate Sunday crash near Brose's Service Station in Montgomery injured Grace Malott with multiple fractures and she was taken to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. Police and medical responders handled all cases, with hospital treatment following each incident.

Gatch Jr Returns From Poland Ahead of July Wedding
