Rites Held For County Airman Dieckbrader
Services were held in Cincinnati for First Lt. Robert E. Dieckbrader of Milford who died June 20 in a Gulfport jet crash during takeoff. An Ohio Air National Guard pilot with the 162nd Tactical Fighter Squadron, he had been on active duty since October and was to be deactivated August 20. He left behind wife Shirley and two sons, and burial was at Rest Myon Cemetery as investigations continued.

Conserve Water Urged as City Reports Pump Failure
SLOVELAND city manager William Shawhan urged residents to continue restricted water use after one of two main pumps burned when the Little Miami River fell below the well intake. A replacement pump arrived from Chicago by air freight and is being installed with a seven foot longer suction pipe. Consumption dropped from 800000 to 480000 gallons as residents heeded pleas to curb nonessential use.

Boy injuries after hay wagon fall near Felicity
Felicity reporter Steve Howard says 13 year old Steve Howard was treated at Brown County Hospital for a shoulder injury after falling from a hay wagon that passed over him on Route 774 one mile north of here. The tractor was driven by his brother Terry Howard, 15.
