Carl and Amy Langhorst of Goshen breed and train Shetland Sheepdogs at Starhaven Kennel. They run 18 dogs, travel to 45 shows annually, and have 75 wins from about 25 000 miles of judging. Their operation began five years ago with one dog and now yields five champions in 30 months.

New Richmond Men Burned Clearing Brush on River Bank
Two New Richmond men Ralph Witchter 70 and Richard Fisher 26 were severely burned while burning brush on the Ohio River bank near Fisher's Marine east of town. Fisher suffered burns to legs face and hands while Witchter had leg chest burns and a possible ankle fracture. Life Squad reached scene quickly and took both to Bethesda Hospital in fair condition.

Loveland Special Election Set for School Bonds
Voters in Loveland will decide on a $394 000 bond for school construction in a special Sept 15 election. A 60 percent yes vote is required with estimated $1 22 yearly per $1000 of property value for 23 years.
