Highlights include a torch light parade July 1 with a five dollar prize for best decorated machine, a July 2 drum corps contest with entrants from Middletown Hamilton and Cincinnati, a July 3 bathing beauty contest for Clermont County residents with Miss Clermont County earning twenty dollars, and July 4 fireworks at the school grounds with a Chateau Thierry display and free acts including The Girl with a Thousand Lives and Waxo the Mechanical Man.

Suit Compromised In Clermont County Court
The $6000 damage suit of Peerless Creamery Co. against W. G. H. Rabe and others was heard in Clermont County Common Pleas Court. After a brief examination of witnesses the case was compromised with Rabe surrendering a $1000 note and agreeing not to engage in the business for five years, plus paying his own witnesses.

Three Higginsport Bank Robbers Sentenced For Life
The three men who robbed Higginsport area banks last Monday week and killed Mr. Schwenk were indicted on Thursday, pleaded guilty and received life sentences at the Ohio Penitentiary on Saturday. A grand jury was ordered to hear evidence against them for the killing, with Judge Bagby deferring execution until the panel reports. The men described their operations in several towns, including Batavia Bethel and Owensville, and were identified by townspeople.

Illness Fatal To Woman Educator
Funeral services for Miss Ruth Elizabeth Moyer longtime Ft Thomas educator and Central School principal were held at Williamsburg Ohio. She died after a monthlong illness at her Cincinnati home and is survived by her parents three brothers and many friends. Governor Myers Cooper paid tribute to her kindness and civic regard.

Taxes Far Short Time for Paying Ends
Clermont county tax payers fell far short of the usual tax receipts with only 66413 received in the first twenty days down from the customary 250000. Large corporations accounted for about one quarter of the total. Treasurer Erdman said mail receipts were all receipted and work up to Saturday at 1 pm was complete. the extension was granted to July 20 to accommodate residents.

Ada Linton Dies by Self Inflicted Gunshot Wound
Ada Linton aged 62 killed herself Friday afternoon at her Goshen home where she lived with her half brother Frank Linton. Her sister in law Mrs Glenn Linton found the body. Coroner Joseph Curtis ruled death from gunshot wounds and personal safety related. Burial set for Wilmington.
