Modern Dodge Plymouth sales building opens in Batavia

Batavia news outlines Harry Kahle owner of the new Dodge Plymouth sales agency and office building at Main and 3rd Streets. Grand opening is set for June 30 to July 2 with an old-fashioned square dance. The project includes a complete service department, two hoists, a Drynamometer vehicle analyzer, front end alignment displays on screens, and a coal room ready future. The old building will be a paint and body shop and parts are stocked in a large basement storage area.

Old Swimming Hole Near Batavia Still Draws Crowds

The East Fork of the Little Miami River below Red Bridge on Route 222 near Batavia remains a popular local spot. Residents include the Mahoney and Snyder families from Bethel. a last year missing swimmer Henry Whitt Jr was found at the pool bottom. two Batavia youths Bill Piercefield and Robert Setty are noted for top-bridge jumps. a baptism occurred there at the Church of Christ Batavia.

Clermont County Christian Camp Opens Season With Weeklong Programs

Clermont County Christian Youth Camp hosts multiple weekly sessions from June 19 through August 6 including Senior Junior and Pioneer weeks. Attendees include Batavia Church of Christ members Betty Shepard and others. Rev. Gerald Durre teaches during intermediate week. The 34 acre site, purchased in 1945 by local Churches of Christ, features an artificial lake and has grown with four successful seasons. Tuition is ten dollars per week covering meals lodging and recreation. Forty four students join from Tennessee Kentucky Indiana and Ohio.

Indictments Returned In Clermont County Grand Jury Session

Six indictments were returned in nine cases by the Clermont County Grand Jury last Friday. Two cases carried twin indictments. charges include driving while intoxicated and without license against David Hofer, who was involved in a May accident near Afton that killed John Lay. Randolph Diggs faces two counts for reckless driving and DUI. Abbey Sourtherlander and others face various charges.

Young People’s Camp Reunion Set Near Batavia

Mrs G H Broomhall of Hillsboro will preside at the second annual reunion of the Clermont County interdenominational young people’s camp alumni. The event Sunday August 7 at 2 pm gathers campers with leaders families and friends at Beechwood now Sportsmen Club near Batavia for a picnic supper and program. 16 Year Old Boy Fatally Injured In Bicycle Mishap

William Henderson aged 16 of Amelia died en route to Crist Hospital after being struck by a car driven by Glenn Kieth Allen 16 of Amelia on State Route 125. Sheriff Dericks and officers investigated. Services were held at Kennedy Funeral Home Bethel with burial in Bethel Cemetery. He survived by his parents two sisters and four brothers.

Batavia Fireworks Fine for Youths. Multiple Local Accidents

Three Batavia youths Marvin Fannin Fred Richards and Calvin Hitt were fined for illegal fireworks discharge. A juvenile faced punishment after a public fireworks warning by Sheriff Clyde Dericks. Separate crashes injured a Cincinnati passenger Catherine Roat and involved drivers Manning and Popp in Batavia Olive Branch and Bethel with investigators on scene.

New Fire Truck Demonstration Tonight in Williamsburg

Williamsburg residents within four miles are invited to see the newly acquired $9,000 fire truck during a fire prevention program at Williamsburg High School.
