Gregg Leaving Batavia for Northern Michigan Summer

Longtime Batavia property owner George W. Gregg will spend most of the summer in a newly acquired Northern Michigan home after resigning as chairman of the First National Bank of Batavia. The Gregg family has deep local ties, with prior roles in business and the Courier newspaper.

Amateur Horse Show Organized by Clermont Saddle Club

Laurel The first annual Amateur Horse Show sponsored by the Clermont Western Saddle Club will be held Sunday June 24 starting at 1 p.m. with four place Rosette awards in 24 Western and English events. Howard Spaulding president says the show is open and entries are expected from all over the state. Louis Burger vice president and Spaulding organized the club this spring and now have 60 members.

Judges Named For Kiddie Contest At St Veronica Summer Festival

Judges for the Kiddie Contest during St Veronica's Church Summer Festival were announced by festival chairman Norb Wilking. They are Orville Halbisch Batavia M M Adams New Town and Edward Dietsch Cincinnati Gas Electric Co. The contest will be held Sunday June 24 with one hundred dollars in prizes. Stephan Stahl son of Floyd and Mrs Stahl has returned from the hospital after compound fractures of both legs suffered when a tractor ran over him by a five year old brother. He is recuperating and may have casts removed in about two weeks.

The Secretary of State issued a not for profit charter to The Ranger Association and Safety Club Inc. with principal offices in Owensville, Stonelick Township, Clermont County Ohio. Rosenfeld Named To Mt Carmel Glen Este School Board

Richard Rosenfeld of Vermont Drive Summerside is appointed to the Mt Carmel Glen Este board succeeding Gail Pendell who resigned. The board plans a $161000 bond for a building addition with a July 24 special election. One half day sessions for grades 1 to 3 are planned this fall.

Mr. George W. Gregg of Batavia has retired from the Board of Directors and as Chairman after nearly twenty-five years of service at First Nations Bank Batavia. Gregg previously served as President.

Township Zoning To Be Discussed

Union Township zoning officials meet with trustees and three civic clubs to consider placing a zoning levy on the November ballot. Discussion centers on petition support and whether eight percent of the previous gubernatorial voters sign, with about 240 names anticipated.

Petition Seeks Closing Of Stonelick Dump

Residents and property owners in Stone Lick Township petitioned the Clermont County Board of Health to investigate the Stonelick Dump on Allen Gilkison property off Stonelick Williams Corner Road. The 159 signatures cite noxious odors fumes and smoke and health risks to nearby residents and lands and streams. Charles W. Jackson represents the petitioners.
