4-H News Mt Carmel Flying Needle Club Meeting
The Mt. Carmel Flying Needle met at Mrs. Mathis on June 12 1945 with all members present. Plans were made to meet again June 19 1945 for a hike and sewing on dish towels. Norma Jean Pattison demonstrated towel making and Winnie Jacobs listed sewing basket contents.

Wounded in action on Luzon May 25, Pfc Walter Luecke is reported by parents Anthony and Mary Luecke. He has served 18 months overseas with an infantry unit and saw prior Pacific service before the Philippines. First Lt William F Brown, son of the late Tack Brown, has completed 41 combat missions with the 9th Air Force in Europe and awaits transfer in France. He is a B 26 Marauder bombardier navigator with seven oak leaf clusters and the Air Medal. his mother is Mrs Emma D Brown of Terrace Park. Three Clermont County men begin Naval indoctrination at Great Lakes with aptitude tests to decide future assignment. They are: Harry Scholten of Batavia, Ralph Wallace of Felicity, and Albert Rapp of Amelia. Pfc Thomas R Atwood arrived at Billings General Hospital Indianapolis after overseas service in Europe. wounded after crossing the Danube, he earned the Purple Heart. His parents are C M Atwood of Williamsburg. S-Sgt Anthony H Dietrich of Amelia is assigned to Santa Ana Army Air Base and has served since 1942 with B 25 and B 24 units in the Pacific. he holds the Pacific Theatre Ribbon with two battle stars.

Clermont County undertakes a six year tax reappraisal with Woodward and Co of Columbus handling the appraisal work. Local township appraisers have been named and trained.
