Police levy renewal set for November ballot in Miami Township
Miami Township trustees voted June 10 to place a two mill police levy renewal on the November ballot. The levy, approved originally in 1980, would run indefinitely if approved. Last year the police levies collected about $615,000 from 4.8 mills, while other police levies also run indefinitely. The meeting also invited bids for seven to eight miles of township road blacktopping to be finished before school opens, with bids opened July 8 at 8:30 p.m. A budget hearing was scheduled, and ODOT announced completion of the Ohio 131 Cromley Drive intersection study and recommended speed limit reduction from 45 mph, not a flashing light, to be sent to Columbus.
