A hunter recounts day three of turkey season chasing a wary old gobbler. After hours of stalking and a near miss at gun range the tom roosts across the ridge as dawn breaks and a morning chorus rises, signaling a fresh start to the pursuit.
Terry Glynn recounts a solo turkey hunt from hillside to ridge where a gobbler answers with gobbles and the hunter crawls toward a full strut bird. After a tense stalk and a thunderous shot, the old gobbler drops. Glynn, Clermont County game protector, reflects on the hunt and Thanksgiving dinner.
Clermont County engineer Ralph Palmer asks affected townships to contribute funds toward a $100,000 nine month thoroughfare study. Union, Miami donate 10 percent each. Batavia five percent. Pierce, Williamsburg, Tate two and a half percent. Goshen commits $5,000. Study aims to aid 28, with state support hoped.
