Miami University dedicates Climer Guest Lodge on campus
The Climer Guest Lodge, nine room facility adjacent to the Marstein Alumni Center, was dedicated during Alumni Reunion Weekend. Gifted by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Climer, it serves as a hospitality center for distinguished guests and is funded entirely by alumni contributions, not public funds.

Sheriff Donald Watson warns in Bhurs June 20 1968 that illegal fireworks including cherry bombs are banned. Only cap pistols and sparklers are allowed. Deputies will cite juveniles to Juvenile Court and adults to County Court. Sale within the county is banned and confiscations apply to cross state or county purchases.

School Board Restates Stand On CNE Transfer
Clermont County Board of Education reaffirmed its approval of transferring territory from Clermont Northeastern to Milford Village School District, citing good faith and four public meetings from 1967 to 1968. The board argued the change reduces travel, affects 54 pupils minimally, and notes finances favor the transfer. Three Clermont County students attended the 18th annual Forensic Workshop at Ohio University.

Long Illness Fatal To Earl W. Smith Radio Repairman
Earl W. Smith 64 known as Mr Radio Repairman died after a long illness. He opened a radio sales and service shop in Batavia in 1943 and later pioneered TV sales in the area. He was a Batavia Businessmen Association member for over twenty years and helped run the Smith family business after 1965. Survived by wife Mary two sons William and Donald two daughters Erla MacLail and Ethel May Boose and mother Ethel Beard Smith. Burial was at Mt Moriah Cemetery after services at Powers Nurse Funeral Home Amelia.
