Indian Creek Claims Boy Services Set For Another Indian Creek
Rites are to be held in Amelia for John Edward Sorton 9 who drowned Sunday wading at Tacoma Beach Ohio River. He is survived by his parents and two sisters and burial will be in Lucy Run Cemetery. Donald Dean Brown 18 drowned in Indian Creek near Point Pleasant and was buried at Liberty Kentucky. His father Wilbur Brown resides there and he was swimming at the Dunbar Hole near the Ohio River. Helen Wilson and Dorothy Morford were with him when he disappeared. Police and doctors searched the creek. Archie Utter Jr. rushed for a doctor but a car accident intervened. Donald had been boarding in Laurel with the Utter family and has an uncle William Brown in Laurel. He is survived by his stepmother, three sisters, four half-sisters and two half-brothers.

Looters Sought After Clermont Grocery and Tavern Burglary
Police from Sheriff Clyde Deracks’ office seek two looters who hit the Blue Bell Tavern at Withiamsville and the M and E Grocery one mile west of Clermont. The tavern lost 170 dollars and two cases of beer after entry via a broken rear window. The grocery burglary involved removing a door and a window but no merchandise was taken.

Clermont Board Merges Owensville Perintown Districts
Clermont Board of Education merged Owensville and Perintown districts in a step toward a 12 year plan to consolidate 14 elementary schools. Perintown transfer will wait until Owensville adds a $90,000 building extension.
