Union Two chief warns life squad risks health at home calls

The chief says frequent false alarms at an elderly woman's house endanger responders. One squad member was bitten and rushed to hospital for rabies shots while others fell ill after entering the home. In 1981 the squad responded 18 times, with nine calls noted by Deimling as precautionary. County health inquiries yielded no solution and trustees push property upkeep to reduce risks.

So Com owner David Reynolds announced at the June 8 village council meeting that equipment and manpower are ready to outfit New Richmond for Cable TV. He seeks a definite village agreement, a warehouse, and approval to move forward, with the solicitor to review the contract. Plans also covered sidewalk upgrades on Market Street and a Fourth of July parade with a boat parade and grand marshal Dick Von Hoene.

Richard Reiter a former Zimmer Nuclear Power Plant document reviewer testified before a U S House subcommittee on energy and environment about widespread QA failures at the Zimmer plant Based on a 16 page affidavit he filed at presstime he described blatant falsification of markings and routine overlooking of errors during 1980 81 as a Kaiser Construction subcontractor He said he found hundreds of deficiencies in piping drawings and noted others misclassified parts and altered drawings after reports were filed

Bethel Mini Fest opens 11th season this weekend

Bethel Mini Fest runs Friday through Saturday at the Ebon C Hill Amphitheatre with free concerts by Cincinnati Symphony Pops and Air Force Band of Flight Show Band.
