Royal Welcome as Batavia Welcomes German U B Convention

The Batavia German U B congregation hosts the Ohio German conference Young People's Christian Union and Sunday School convention June 9 to 12. Delegates, pastors, and local members filled sessions with devotion, inspiring sermons, and a well received program led by Rev. J Sick and Rev. A Schmidt. A special Cincinnati delegation arrived by rail to attend the Sunday services.

G A R Encampment At Xenia Aims For Fourfold Attendance

The IG A R Department of Ohio encampment opens in Xenia and runs through Thursday evening. About 20 000 Civil War veterans are expected to attend with many Clermonts soldiers joining the reunion and festivities across the three days.

R. G. Patterson Dies Sudden At 68 In Owensville

R. G. Patterson, 68, Owensville wagon maker, died suddenly Tuesday evening while at work. A Mason and an Odd Fellow, he was highly esteemed by both orders. Funeral services set for Friday at 10 a.m. under Masonic and Odd Fellow auspices. Survived by wife and one daughter.
