Death of Danville matriarch Elizabeth Knauer
Mrs Elizabeth Knauer mother of Frank Knauer of this place died at her Danville home in Highland county on Friday in her 98th year and was buried Sunday. She witnessed vast changes from ox carts to flying machines and from weekly mails to daily radio, remaining active until recently as mourners from here attended the funeral.

Go Slow Bridge Replacement Near Olive Branch
The iron bridge below Olive Branch will be replaced by a cement culvert on the state pike. Farm Bureau reports record cooperative fertilizer purchases
Ohio Farm Bureau data through May 21 shows coop fertilizer tonnage at over 24 800, up about 75 percent from 1927, with eight county units now in operation. Cooperative feed buying has more than doubled, and the Ohio Farm Bureau formed a financing and management corporation to pool capital for joint buying and selling.
