Moonshine Case Leads to Guilty Plea and Fines
Dora Owens of Rural pleaded guilty to manufacturing and possession of liquor after a May 12 arrest by Sheriff Croswell and Deputy Roberts. She received a $600 fine plus costs for the offenses and a gallon still and 80 gallons of moonshine were seized. Oscar Moss of Williamsburg was tried for possession and selling liquor and jailed until trial. he faced $150 in fines plus costs. Herbert Johnson a 15 year old from Williamsburg faced concealment of a revolver charge. he appeared before Mayor Chaffin and Juvenile Court with Judge Woodmansee presiding.

Young Lady Passes After Brief Illness in Amelia
Mrs. Charles Fitzpatrick aged 32 of Amelia died at Bethesda hospital Cincinnati Tuesday evening after pneumonia. She leaves husband son mother a brother and three sisters. Born in Batavia she married Charles Fitzpatrick and lived in Amelia. Funeral Saturday at M E church Batavia burial there among many floral pieces.

Sunday Services Highlight Batavia Union Effort
Sunday marks Children's Day with a Sunday school program and a children's service in the morning. The sermon titled A Bay for Sale will be delivered.
