Owensville hosts the 115th Clermont County Fair from August 18 to 22. The schedule includes grange exhibits, 4-H horse shows, beef cattle, rabbits, pork and poultry judging, tractor pulls, fruit and flower judging, Frosty Follies, dairy and pantry product judging, art judging, racing, and the Rotroff Thrill Show with a grand parade and fair board elections.

Batavia Records First Auto Death in Eight Years
Russell Hollingsworth of Nicholsville died from injuries after a May 24 two car crash on W Main St near the Norfolk and Western underpass. The 56 year old was reportedly asleep when his car struck Carl Wells 17 of New Richmond head on. Wells and his passengers Donna Marck 17 and Richard Hutson 20 suffered minor injuries. Hollingsworth is survived by his wife Priscilla daughter Saundra Lyn 3 son Russell Jr 19 months and his mother Mrs Haley Hollingsworth. Funeral services set for 2 p.m. at Staley Funeral Home Deer Park with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
