Largest Ever July Draft Called From Clermont County
Records show 3664 men aged 45 to 64 registered in Clermont County with Board No 1 signing 1495 cards and Board No 2 signing 2169. The July call will be the largest yet, with Board No 1 to furnish 77 men and Board No 2 sending about 95 to 100 for Fort Thomas for final physicals before induction. The region is projected to exceed 1000 total service members across branches after the July call as A standards drift downward and older men are increasingly accepted. The draft will include men from the second age group beginning with the July call under mandatory federal Selective Service.
