Bonus Here Next Week for World War Veterans Bonds

Clermont County post offices prepare for a batch of adjusted service bonds or bonus bonds arriving by registered mail from Cleveland to distribute to World War II veterans. About 150 Batavia veterans are expected to receive bonds with on site pickup Tuesday night and rural route deliveries Wednesday. Bonds won't be cashed at offices. after identification the bonds are sent to paying offices and a government check mailed later. Bonds bear 3 percent interest and total county disbursement may exceed $500,000.

Grant-Allen Romance Ties Texas Bride to Hearne Groom

The marriage of John Fishback Grant formerly of Batavia now in Houston Texas to Mrs Florence Blair Allen of Hearne took place Thursday at the bride’s home. Rev H N Tinker of St Phillips Church performed the ceremony. The couple left after breakfast for New York and eastern cities.

Clermont county friends of Hobart Seyler news he has accepted a senior position with the United States Steel Company of New York as assistant to the president. Formerly he served as assistant chief chemist for Carnegie Steel in Pittsburgh and is a Batavia High School and Ohio State University graduate.

The Cler mont County Federation of Woman's Clubs annual meeting was held at Amelia with district president Mrs. Frederic Heldner of New Richmond and Sophia heldner. Pocket Picked During Nap on East Fork Bank

John Matacia of Cincinnati reported a theft while napping Sunday afternoon on the East Fork above Batavia. He says $56 was stolen from his pocket and suspects a two men and a woman were parked in a nearby machine.

Batavia Mill Dam Repair Promised After State Talks

State Representative John J. Hayden announced planned repairs or rebuilding of the Batavia mill dam after a conference with State Conservation Commissioner Lawrence Woodell. Hayden said dams will be built in several Clermont County streams and an engineer will inspect the Batavia dam to prepare for work.

Robbery Halted In Dunham Hill Hold Up Near New Richmond

Ben Miller, a farmer near New Richmond, was held up by three men and a woman in a large green auto on Dunham's hill around 6 p m while returning from Cincinnati. He surrendered $145 after the incident. No clues were found, says Marshal Frank Perry.
