Williamsburg Senior to Receive State Farm Degree
Lyle Sutton, Williamsburg High School senior and member of the Williamsburg FFA chapter, will receive the State Farm Degree at the eighth annual FFA convention in Columbus on June 5 and 6. Sutton, outstanding in agriculture, plans to attend Ohio State Agriculture College this fall after earning $500 labor income from his projects. He led county scholarship tests, won district public speaking in 1933, placed second in 1935 and 1936, held a four year high school average of 87, and served as FFA president for three years and 4-H club president. He also participated in judging teams, plays, baseball, county fairs, pest hunts, and banquets. Williamsburg FFA will be well represented with Sutton, Wilbur Steward, and Richard Kellum judging general livestock. Doyle Goldstone, Wilbur Steward, and Glenn Burger judging dairy cattle. Three Men Hijack Liquor Truck In Carthage Heist
Three men hijacked a liquor truck and trailer on Seventh Eighth Street in Carthage Friday night and kidnapped driver Walter Etson of Cincinnati. They forced him to drive to 8 mile road to unload liquor into a black sedan before escaping from Hamilton County deputies near New Richmond after a brief pursuit. Etson was released at New Richmond.

Bethel CCC enrollee bound over for auto theft
Charles Bryant, 20, Covington, an enrollee at the Bethel CCC camp, was bound over to the Clermont County grand jury by Bethel Mayor Wm. Myers on a charge of stealing an automobile owned by E. J. Manning of Bethel. Manning’s car vanished from Plane Street Monday night after he left a restaurant for a sandwich, and later, while following the car, he saw a driver stop near his home and ask him to fix a flat tire. Manning then confronted the youth in his house and summoned Marshall Cyrus Little of Bethel.

Collision near route 125 injures couple from Withamaville
Tom Trabish 21 and his girlfriend Helen Foos sustained serious injuries in a head on crash on route 125 near their home. Trabish suffered a crushed chest and a fractured leg while Foos endured a fractured leg and a cut throat. Both were transported to Bethesda hospital Cincinnati after the wreck.
