Orville W. Halbisch of Batavia Ohio received the Cincinnati Y M C A Law School fifty dollar second prize for scholarship effort and character. Mrs Jennie Bryan aged 77 died at the home of F B Dyer Hyde Park early Sunday after a brief illness. She was born in Batavia taught in Batavia public schools and in Cincinnati and was active in education clubs and church work. Funeral from Dyer's Hyde Park residence Tuesday at 2 pm burial in Batavia Union Cemetery. Local Fourth of July plans include a larger carnival with prizes over 1000.

County Club 4 H Picnic Conference Held at Owensville
About 200 4 H Club members and leaders gathered at Owensville school for a picnic conference on Friday June 5. The day featured group singing led by H M Taylor and officer instruction sessions followed by a noon meal that depleted quickly. The Harmony Sewing Club and Nimble Thimble Club presented performances while Guy Dowdy spoke on community service and Carl Bibbee discussed health aspects of 4 H work. The day concluded with a strong endorsement of the event. Separately the State Department of Agriculture issued a boating ruling limiting anglers to two poles or lines and warned enforcement will follow.

Auto Wreck Injures Two in Bethel Jeep Crash
John Binkley and Robert Colvin of Williamsburg crashed after speeding past a Kroger truck in Bethel. Binkley suffered multiple injuries including a broken leg and arm and facial trauma. Colvin was jailed after the incident. A gallon of whiskey was found at the scene and charges included disorderly conduct and operating an auto while intoxicated.
