Mrs. Hattie Hartwell of Cain Run Road released on bond to await arraignment before Mayor J. F. Paschal on assault and pointing a deadly weapon after neighbors alleged she was struck during a dispute. Sheriff Dericks sought warrants for Mabel Gregory and Nellie Gassett. Hartwell previously faced charges for receiving stolen goods.

Two Drownings Reported Near Cincinnati Yacht Club
The body of 31 year old William Boshears of Mt. Holly was found near the Cincinnati Yacht Club after an apparent accident while wiring a dock extension on the tugboat Pat Murphy. Services were held at Sumner Powers funeral home, Amelia, with burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. A second drowning victim, 26 year old Raymond W. Naegele of Locust Lake Road near Amelia, was recovered from a private lake on Cincinnati Batavia Pike after a 30 minute search. Authorities ruled accidental drowning. last rites are set for Friday in Amelia.
