August 10 Filing Date for Clermont County Elections

Clermont County officials set August 10 as the filing deadline for township and board of education candidates. Petitions must be filed by 4 p m. Woman Beaten Awaits Hearing On Assault Charge

Mrs. Hattie Hartwell of Cain Run Road released on bond to await arraignment before Mayor J. F. Paschal on assault and pointing a deadly weapon after neighbors alleged she was struck during a dispute. Sheriff Dericks sought warrants for Mabel Gregory and Nellie Gassett. Hartwell previously faced charges for receiving stolen goods.

Two Drownings Reported Near Cincinnati Yacht Club

The body of 31 year old William Boshears of Mt. Holly was found near the Cincinnati Yacht Club after an apparent accident while wiring a dock extension on the tugboat Pat Murphy. Services were held at Sumner Powers funeral home, Amelia, with burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. A second drowning victim, 26 year old Raymond W. Naegele of Locust Lake Road near Amelia, was recovered from a private lake on Cincinnati Batavia Pike after a 30 minute search. Authorities ruled accidental drowning. last rites are set for Friday in Amelia.

Dentist 75 Dies Rites Set Friday

Milford Ohio Dr Clarence S Warren aged 75 long time local dentist died Tuesday from a heart attack at his home 51 Cleveland Ave Milford His Milford office was 103 Main St native of Reedsville Ohio a graduate of the old Ohio Dental College and a Spanish American War veteran He served in the Philippines and was a member of Milford Masonic Lodge Scottish Rite and Oola Khan Grotto Continued on Page 8

Zoning Talks Begin Thursday In Union Township

Public hearings on proposed zoning for Union Township set for 8 p.m. Thursday June 9 at Mt. Carmel Glen Este school auditorium for the northern section residents and 8 p.m. Friday June 10 at Williamsville Tabasco school for the southern area. Clermont County Library Board received the first half of operating funds, $18 320, for the year on Saturday.

Tabscott Resigns As Amelia School Superintendent

W. J. Tabscott resigns as Amelia school superintendent after 24 years in administration. He will remain a math teacher full time and offered no reason beyond continuing in teaching. The Courier could not reach the Board president for a replacement name.
