Batavia High School Pageant Delights Afternoon and Evening Crowd
A rain postponed Batavia High School Pageant drew large attendance both sessions. Prof Blair and staff organized a grand 60 by 50 foot stage with thousands of home grown roses. The Batavia Concert Band and Grace McDonald provided music as students performed amid elaborate decorations and costumes. The production portrayed the abdication of seniors for the juniors with royal pageantry led by King Yvain and Queen Yvette.

Class Reception for Juniors and Seniors Held at Titus Home
The junior-senior reception took place Tuesday evening at Mrs. Jennie Titus's home. The house showcased honeysuckle and yellow roses with blue and gold as the color scheme in the dining room and lunch area. a red scheme graced the hall where punch was served. The atdc veranda featured Japanese lanterns and ferns while the high school orchestra provided music, aided by several members.

The Robley Male Quartet will perform at Batavia on July 6 on the chautauqua platform with afternoon and evening shows. Night Funeral for Miss Minnie Diercks in Lindale County
The 68 year old resident near Lindale was buried in Delhi after a night funeral held last Friday at 7 PM. She died Thursday from lockjaw caused by a broken leg suffered in a fall from a horse, a rare nighttime country funeral.
