Old man Oligee’s gun arrest over poaching preserves
In Williamsburg township an elderly farmer took his gun to shoot chickens poaching on his preserves. He was arrested for shooting within the corporation and fined five dollars plus costs. He refused to pay and was committed until liquidated. Judge Hulick ordered his release and he returned to Williamsburg before the constable arrived at Satavia.
