Pocketbook Found On Walnut Hills Cable Car
Mrs. Jacob Baldwin of Blanchester found a purse on a Cincinnati cable car containing 416, a diamond ring and papers. She returned it after hearing a description from a passerby at Fifth and Walnut. The owner, Mrs. Pheister of Avondale, thanked her with 10 dollars. Five years earlier Baldwin had found and returned another purse in the city.

Death of Bethel Resident at 75 After Sudden Collapse
Friends mourn the death of Joseph Clare's companion in Bethel after she collapsed from apoplexy while visiting her niece Mrs Israel. Aged about 75, she was an early Bethel resident, beloved by many. Survived by a husband three sons and two daughters. Burial held at the family home amid widespread sympathy.

State Warden Orders Free Captive Pets and Rodents
County game wardens report statewide instructions to release red kids and other animals kept in captivity. Defiance leads to immediate legal action by deputy wardens. Assault Arrest Over Fight With Colored Man at Work Site
Thomas Baily, an under boss on the P. and W. railroad extension, was arrested by Officer Young last Wednesday night for assault with intent to kill Martin Cox. Cox was burned and beaten, receiving a blow to the eye and further injuries with a spade. He was tried before Mayor Sprague and held to the grand jury in $400 bail.

Thunderstorm damages Levanina residence and injures two men
During a 1 am thunderstorm last Wednesday the residence of Captain A Flesher at Levanina two miles west of Ripley was struck by lightning. Harry Flesher and a young man named Barrett were in bed. both were struck and beds demolished. Barrett bears a leg scar and Flesher a red waist stripe. both are able to be up. Emma Johnson aged 50 wife of Commodore D Johnson died suddenly Sunday at 4 pm of heart disease in Monroe township. An inquest and post mortem were held. she leaves six children, one an invalid.

In Clermont county Ohio township last Saturday a jury found for plaintiff F E McCormick in the case McCormick versus the Board of Education. The verdict awarded damages of 94.94 with costs to be taxed. McCormick had been discharged as teacher prior to the suit. Fifty witnesses attended.
