Clermont County Planning Commission seeks 36400 for 1962 operations. Increase of 11400 over present budget approved unanimously. Funds include 26600 for staff, 3300 for stationery, 6500 for other expenses. Expansion tied to county wide zoning, traffic survey, sewer survey, and refuse disposal study. Chairman C Richard Stevens says the amount could fund five years.

Prosecutor Ralph A. Hill ruled that sole authority to govern use and spending of the .3 mill TB levy rests with county commissioners. The state attorney general was consulted after clinic trustees approved a $250 raise for nurse Dulcie Stevenson and hired a clerk assistant. The ruling affects salary increases and staffing while the clinic operates on Christmas seal funds. trustees may only recommend expenditure, and cannot hire or fire staff. Commissioners plan to meet with trustees to discuss next steps.

July 15 Completion Day For Rt. 74 Job
Pinckney P. Brewers and Sons of Cincinnati began the Rt. 74 resurfacing project 2.98 miles east of Batavia to the southwest corporation line of Williamsburg. The 3.87 miles will be widened to 24 feet and resurfaced at a cost of 70,477 dollars. The project should be completed July 15 with traffic maintained. Three narrow bridges on Rt. 232 in Clermont County will be replaced under the highway department bridge program. Bids opened in Columbus. Two bridges near the Rt. 222 intersection at Salt Air will be replaced with metal pipe arches and a third at Poplar Creek. Estimated cost 98,000 dollars.

Funeral services for Ada Pegg Hoffman 78 of Batavia are at Moore funeral home today. She died Tuesday after a Batavia Life Squad transport to Christ Hospital. A World War I Army nurse and longtime Clermont County public health nurse, she was active in American Legion Post 237 and survived by two brothers in Gallipolis. Interment Batavia Cemetery.
